Where Purpose Meets Partnership: Park at GABKY 2026

For three days in February, pastors, moderators, and ministry leaders from across Kentucky filled the Louisville Marriott East for the 82nd Annual Pastors’ & Leaders Conference hosted by the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky (GABKY). Park Community Credit Union was there to listen, connect, and build relationships that matter.

From February 16–18, Park served as a Gold Level Sponsor, continuing a partnership that has spanned several years. But this wasn’t about visibility. It was about a shared purpose.

Park maintained a presence throughout the conference with a booth featuring financial discussion cards, brochures, giveaways, and a “glamour shot” backdrop offering free professional photos. LaShanta Green, chief engagement officer at Park, spoke at the opening dinner.

Energy stayed high across the event — thoughtful, engaged, and rooted in service. Relationships were restored and strengthened as stories were exchanged freely, questions were asked with intention, and new opportunities emerged in real time.

The moderators took time to visit Park’s table, discussing ways to collaborate with different churches throughout the state. Rev. Robert Blythe of Richmond, who also serves as the city’s mayor, engaged in conversations that are already turning into action. He connected Park with the Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials and has invited Park to participate in a June conference with his congregation and in upcoming City of Richmond events.

In addition, four financial education sessions with churches have already been scheduled, with more planned throughout 2026.

Moderator Rev. Dr. Michael Rice noted that GABKY’s theme this year, “Leading with Purpose, Growing with Power,” reflects intentionality in their work — which aligns naturally with Park’s core values:

  • Vibrant Connection
  • Inclusive Excellence
  • Bold Compassion
  • Endless Empowerment

It’s a reminder that when purpose meets partnership, community thrives.
