What to Be Aware of:
Fraudsters can disguise their phone numbers to appear like genuine businesses. For utmost safety, it’s best to disconnect and dial the business using the contact number listed on their official website.
Stay vigilant! It’s not limited to phone calls. Deceivers craft counterfeit websites that mirror legitimate ones to capture your personal information.
Consistently review your transactions via Park Community’s digital and mobile banking. Ensure all activities are authentic, and alert us immediately if you suspect anyone trying to misuse your data.
What to do if Your Identity has been Stolen
If you need immediate assistance, call Park Community Credit Union at 502.968.3681.
To protect your credit, contact the fraud department of any major credit bureau—Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion—to place a fraud alert on your file. This ensures that creditors verify with you before opening new accounts or making changes to existing ones. Once your fraud alert is confirmed, the other two bureaus will be notified automatically, and you’ll receive free copies of your credit reports.
Additionally, be sure to close any accounts that may have been tampered with or opened fraudulently to prevent further issues.

Additional Safety Measures
Use the FTC’s ID Theft Affidavit when disputing unauthorized accounts to help verify and resolve fraudulent activity.
If identity theft has occurred, file a police report and obtain a copy to provide to creditors or other entities that may require proof of the crime. Additionally, report the theft to the FTC, which maintains a database used by law enforcement for investigations. Filing a complaint also helps the FTC better understand identity theft trends and improve assistance for victims.
If mail fraud is involved, submit a complaint form with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to report the issue.
