Traditional IRA
Contributions are typically tax-deductible, but withdrawals during retirement are taxed as income. This is ideal if you expect to be in a lower tax bracket in retirement.
Roth IRA
Contributions are made with after-tax dollars, meaning you don’t get an upfront tax break, but qualified withdrawals in retirement (including earnings) are tax-free. This works well if you expect to be in a higher tax bracket later.
