Louisville is in full Derby season energy, and the Kentucky Derby Festival’s Block Party Presented by Humana and Park Community Credit Union turned that excitement into a community celebration.
Held on April 4, 2026, at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center, the Block Party is part of the Kentucky Derby Festival lineup, which also includes events like JusticeFest, supported by Park earlier this year.
As a Presenting Sponsor since 2023, Park helps bring this event to life as part of a broader commitment to community connection and belonging.
“We are proud to be part of something that brings the community together in a meaningful way,’ said Jana Erny, President & CEO of Park. “The Block Party is about connection, belonging, and celebrating those who make our community thrive. That’s the exact kind of impact we are committed to every day at Park.”
Park’s space stayed active throughout the day with a photo booth that quickly became a favorite stop at the event. Families lined up for photos, kids jumped in with big smiles and costumes, and friends gathered to capture moments together. Everyone received a photo keepsake, and between photos, guests stuck around — talking, laughing, and coloring Parkie the Panda coloring sheets.

But the most meaningful part wasn’t the activities. It was the people.
Park volunteers connected with members, new visitors, and local business owners. These weren’t quick interactions. They were real conversations that reflected relationships built over time.
One of those moments came from longtime member Phyllis Sugg, who has been with Park since 1971.
“I like the people,” she said. “I feel taken care of; they have time for me when I have questions to ask.”

That is what the Block Party represents. As Kash Foster, Programs & Partnerships Officer at Park, reflected, it felt less like an event and more like a community gathering.
That experience reflects how Park Community Credit Union shows up in the community. We build relationships, create space for connection, and stay present in the moments that matter. Because for Park, community is not something we attend. It is something we help strengthen every day.
