Park Community Credit Union and the University of Louisville are teaming up through a new multi-year partnership that brings together campus experiences, financial well-being, and community connection.
Playing the Long Game
College is a time of change. Students are gaining independence and making financial decisions that can stay with them long after graduation.
For many UofL students, Louisville and the surrounding region will remain part of their story. Many will build their lives here, contributing to the region in ways that are uniquely their own.
The partnership gives Park a chance to build relationships during an important time in students’ lives and continue to be a resource as their needs, goals and lives change.
The UofL community also extends beyond students to faculty, staff, alumni, fans and families, creating even more ways for Park to build meaningful connections.
For Park, it’s another way to put our mission to empower communities, fuel dreams, and cultivate belonging into action.
Catch Us on Campus
We kicked things off during Welcome Week, connecting with students as they began the new school year. It was an early opportunity to introduce students to Park and start building relationships that can continue throughout their college experience.
That same approach will shape how we show up throughout the year. Through campus pop-ups, student activities, career fairs and other experiences, we can meet students where they are and connect them with resources that are relevant to where they’re headed. That might mean making a financial decision with more confidence, exploring career opportunities across the credit union or simply making a connection with our team.
Community Is a Team Sport
Some of the strongest partnerships are the ones that bring more people to the table. This summer, Park teamed up with UofL student-athlete Tre Richardson for a back-to-school event that brought together community partners to provide backpacks, school supplies and other resources to hundreds of local students and families.
That same spirit of connection will continue through Cardinals Rising, UofL’s college-readiness program with Jefferson County Public Schools. The program currently reaches 200 students in grades 8 through 12, connecting them with programming, university resources and campus experiences, with plans to grow to 400 students.
Financial wellness is already part of the program, creating another way for Park to provide students and families with relevant financial resources as young people prepare for greater independence.
Together, these efforts bring more resources, experiences and support within reach for young people and families across our community.
Beyond a Season or Semester
The connections we’re making are meant to last. Park is committed to being there for students as they take their next steps, for families as they connect with resources, and for our community as new possibilities take shape.
