Inside the University of Louisville wide receiver’s inaugural Back-to-School Bash at Hudson Middle School.
A Winning Start
The gym at Hudson Middle School was filled with hundreds of students and their families for University of Louisville wide receiver Tre Richardson’s inaugural Back-to-School Bash, held in partnership with Park Community Credit Union.
Backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, and other school essentials were distributed to students of all ages as part of one of many community giveback initiatives.
Park drawstring bags provided additional space for school supplies distributed during the Back-to-School Bash.
Cardinals in the Crowd
For students and families, the Back-to-School Bash offered a chance to meet University of Louisville football players away from the field. Tre was joined by several of his Cardinal teammates, who served pizza, posed for photos, and chatted with students and their families.
Picture Perfect
The crowd was not camera-shy. Families, friends, fans, and a few Cardinals dressed up in props and gave their best poses as part of Park’s Book the Look photo experience.
Attendees left with printed keepsakes from the Back-to-School Bash, with students already making plans for their photos, from hanging them in their lockers to taping them inside their notebooks.
What’s Next
For Tre and his mother, Kay Richardson, the goal was to make sure the support didn’t stop with the students who attended Back-to-School Bash. Kay wanted every remaining backpack and school supply to reach a child who could use it at the beginning of the school year.
That goal led to a new collaboration between the Richardson family and the Park Community Foundation, with a focus on getting the remaining supplies to more children while they could still be put to good use for the upcoming school year.
