At Park Community Credit Union, we believe that philanthropy should be more than writing checks, it should be about building equity, access, and lasting change. That’s the spirit behind the Park Community Foundation, and it’s why we’re honored that our approach was recently spotlighted in CreditUnions.com in an article titled “How a Credit Union Foundation Builds Equity and Access.”
What Makes the Park Community Foundation Different
The Foundation was created to ensure that the communities we serve can thrive, not just today, but for generations to come. We stand out because we focus on:
- Pathways to Prosperity Grants: Targeted toward Education, Financial Wellbeing, and Thriving Communities, three areas that are the foundation of opportunity.
- Equitable Decision-Making: Funding decisions are guided by an advisory committee made up of employees and members who reflect the diversity of our community.
- Trust-Based Philanthropy: We remove barriers that often keep grassroots nonprofits from funding, offering training, office hours, and feedback so organizations of all sizes can succeed.
- Hands-On Partnership: Our support doesn’t end with funding. From volunteering to amplifying stories, we walk alongside our grantees to deepen impact.
The Impact So Far
Since 2019, the Park Community Foundation has awarded more than $580,000 in grants to local nonprofits, including $100,000 to 11 organizations in 2024 alone. This support has fueled everything from scholarships and housing for youth performers to expanded foster care resources and beyond.
And it’s not just about dollars, it’s about people. In 2025, Park employees are on track to contribute over 3,000 volunteer hours, living out our mission to build thriving communities together.
Looking Ahead
The momentum continues. Applications for the 2025 Pathways to Prosperity grants are now closed, and winners will be announced at our second annual gala in November. Last year, the gala raised nearly $60,000, funding new initiatives, including a scholarship program that will launch in 2026.
